With the announcement of Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung has unveiled bunch of wearables as well at the time of MWC 2014 in Barcelona. They are the wristwatches Galaxy Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. Beside these two, Samsung has also come up with fitness and fashion focused watch known as Samsung Gear Fit.
The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo both get synced with smarphones to receive notifications of incoming texts, calls etc. And there is a slight difference in Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, the latter one lacks the camera feature. However, both of these Gears have 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 320×320 pixels and 1.0GHz dual core processor. There is a support of video as high as 720p and microphone inputs with the capacity of easy-to-transfer music from the phone to use it later independently. Moreover, unlike Samsung Galaxy Gear, it uses Tizen – an OS from Samsung. It means they don’t run Android OS anymore. And there is an improvement in sensors range too, and this time Gear 2 has come with heart rate sensor as well as pedometers and sleep monitors.
The other gadget Gear Fit also has pedometer, heart rate monitor and sleep monitor along with others. And there are available features of accelerometer and gyro. However, there is a small display of Gear Fit to monitor all the activities in a very light weight design. It features three to four-day battery life and interchangeable straps. Moreover, there is a presence of an ability which makes it to receive or reject calls and even generate responses to incoming messages. Smart! Isn’t it?
