The new iPhone comes with a lot of new useful features. Here are 10 hidden features Apple didn’t tell you about.
Wipe Your Device
If you don’t feel that a password is safe enough, enable the erase data feature in your phone. This feature wipes the data from your phone after 10 failed password attempts. To enable this, go to Settings> General> Passcode Lock then look for the erase data option.
Siri Can Handle Your Calls
If you want to listen to a voicemail or call somebody back, just ask Siri and she will do it for you.
Spirit Level
The built in Compass app has a secret second page that contains a spirit level. Have a crooked picture? Now you can use your phone to level it.
Message Time Stamps
In the messages app, if you need to know the time a message came in just swipe to the right of that message and it will reveal when it was sent.
Joining Free Trusted WiFi
With iOS 7 and above, your iPhone will automatically join trusted WiFi hotspots.
One Hand Feature
On the iPhone 6 Plus, there is a feature that makes the device easier to use with one hand. Double tap the home button, make sure not to actually press the button, and this will activate the phone’s reachability feature.
Block Calls or Messages
To block a call or message go to Settings> Phone and/or Settings> Messages and find the Blocked option, then add the numbers you wish to block.
Hey Siri
You don’t need to long press the home button to use Siri anymore. Just say Hey Siri to activate it. To enable this feature go to Settings> General> Siri> Allow “Hey Siri”.
Buy Songs Using Siri
You can now ask Siri to buy content from the iTunes Store. You can also get Siri to identify a track for you via Shazam.
Audio Only Facetime
To have a audio only Facetime call all you have to do is make a call like normal, but tap the phone icon.
