Following are some tips and tricks for a healthy sleep at night. you can try the following tips and share them with others as well.
Stick to a sleep schedule
Go to bed and get up at the same time every day, even on weekends, holidays and days off. Being consistent reinforces your body’s sleep-wake cycle and helps promote better sleep at night.
Vigorous exercise is best, but even light exercise is better than no activity. Exercise at any time of day, but not at the expense of your sleep.
Sleep on a comfortable mattress and pillows
Make sure your mattress is comfortable and supportive. The one you have been using for years may have exceeded its life expectancy – about 9 or 10 years for most good quality mattresses. Have comfortable pillows and make the room attractive and inviting for sleep.
Nap to make up for lost sleep
If you need to make up for a few lost hours, opt for a daytime nap rather than sleeping late. This strategy allows you to pay off your sleep debt without disturbing your natural sleep-wake rhythm, which often backfires in insomnia and throws you off for days.
Spend the last hour before bed doing a calming activity such as reading
For some people, using an electronic device such as a laptop can make it hard to fall asleep, because the particular type of light emanating from the screens of these devices is activating to the brain. If you have trouble sleeping, avoid electronics before bed or in the middle of the night.
When it’s time to sleep, make sure the room is dark.
The darker it is, the better you’ll sleep. Cover electrical displays, use heavy curtains or shades to block light from windows, or try a sleep mask to cover your eyes.
If you still can’t sleep then you must go to some another room and do some activity until you are tired and then come into the bedroom and make it dark and sleep. Keep yourself away from computers and television at least before half an hour before sleeping. If you often have trouble getting a sleep then you must visit your doctor and tell him your problem. Hope you will get good ideas to make your sleep healthy.
