Here is the big brother of the Samsung flagship phablet Galaxy Note 4, which got a slight more edge to its beauty, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. Galaxy Note Edge is not a phone of the future but it might give us the insight of how much the curved display can revolutionize the way we see smart phones or tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge’s main distinction from its brother, Galaxy note 4, is its curved display which provides its users a new way to access information. We can access all the notifications without disturbing the main screen, the curved display does also a good job in getting out of the way whenever we don’t want it. For instance, when we are watching a full screen video the curved notification bar disappears and after swiping downwards from horizontal view it comes back around. Also the quick tools bar which are a swipe down from the side bar remains in the side bar even when you are using them without hovering in the main screen. There have been complaints of the curved display as well on the right side leaving it useless for the left handed people. And we highly doubt that Samsung will release another model for the left handed ones, so if you are left handed just hold your phone upside down.
Galaxy Note Edge got a 5.6” Quad HD plus Super AMOLED (2560×1440+160) display with life like vivid colours and sharpness. Along with 2.7 GHZ of Quad Core processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory with a support of 64 GB of micro SD card. You can capture your favorite moments with its 16 MP rear camera with smart OIS technology, and the front is 3.7 MP with F1.9 lens in every environment whether its dimly lit or bright.
Galaxy Note Edge also features ‘Smart select’ feature which lets you freely select the text or content on the screen. Another feature which is quite handy is ‘Photo Note’ through which you take photos with photo note and convert analogue to digital instantly, after that you can edit it or change colours or put additional notes in it of your choice. S Pen has also been improved this time. The release date of Galaxy Note Edge is rumored to be in fall 2014 after the release of Note 4.
When it comes about price of Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The exact price is not yet known, but the guess is, it will cost a slight more than Samsung Galaxy Note 4. So, what do you think of Galaxy Note Edge’s curved display, a revolution or an annoyance?
