iTunes store app is heading towards Android. This is great news for Android device holders. It has been a great app to purchase music ever since iPod has come to existence. Have you been waiting to try out iTunes app on Android platform? It will bring a chance to purchase music of your favorite artists and much more.
However, the reason why they are now planning to seed an official iOS based app to Android based smartphones, is because of lower sales of music and to stop this decline. They have decided to fight with sales decline by capturing untapped potential of Android users. As iTunes has a share of as high as 40% of U.S. recorded music revenue, this decision will have a big impact on label’s business model.
iTunes has been available on the platform of iOS, Mac OS and Windows. And now there are numbers of proofs available, which confirms the iTunes availability on Android phones. One such proof has shown as:-
Apple has opened exploratory talks with senior label executives about the possibility of launching an on-demand streaming service that would rival Spotify and Beats Music, according to three people familiar with the talks. Apple is also thinking about adding an iTunes App for Android phones, the Google rival that has been growing faster than the iPhone, these sources said.
Steve Jobs never wanted this to happen. He always has opposed to make Android users happy. But after three years of his death, Apple is now standing at this stage. Look for yourself:-
“We thought about whether we should do a music client for Android. We put iTunes on Windows in order to sell more iPods. But I don’t see an advantage of putting our own music app on Android, except to make Android users happy. And I don’t want to make Android users happy.”
What do you think of this step? Will it be fruitful in true sense for Apple? Share your views in the comment section below.
